Welcome to Quant for Hire! My name is Matt Radtke, and I’m here to help you create, test, and improve your quantified stock market trading systems.
My tool of choice for testing market strategies is AmiBroker. It’s powerful and flexible yet reasonably priced, and works well with data from a variety of sources. My favorite source for End-of-Day data is Norgate Data; they provide high-quality data, are very responsive to customer requests, and have a fantastic integration with AmiBroker that includes the ability to determine historical constituency of many major market indices. If you’re considering becoming a subscriber, contact me for details on how to get a free extension.
If we work together, which I hope we will, I will always strive to provide you with exceptional value. I pride myself on my communication skills as well as my technical abilities, and in my 30+ years of experience I’ve concluded that those form the foundation of productive partnerships which lead to successful projects. You can see feedback from some of my clients here.
I am a Michigan State University graduate with a BS in Computer Science. I have over 30 years of software development experience in companies large and small, including Hewlett-Packard and Bell Northern Research. During my ten years with a Boulder, CO software firm I rose from the position of senior software engineer to Vice President of Engineering. More details can be found in my resume.
I have been actively trading stocks, ETFs, and options since 2008, and have also traded futures and forex at various times. From 2011 through 2019 I worked with the Connors Group family of companies, first as a student, then as a consultant, researcher, and author. My primary business is providing independent consulting services for AmiBroker and Excel, and I have clients from around the globe including the US, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Great Britain, India, and Indonesia.
I very much enjoy the puzzle-solving aspects of both software development and creating winning stock market strategies. However, I have always been a firm believer in the importance of being a well-rounded person with a range of interests and activities. One of my non-technical passions in life is scuba diving. Below you can see me interacting with a Napolean (humphead) wrasse named Josephine in Palau.
